Lane Fox REMEO Respiratory Centre

The Lane Fox REMEO® Respiratory Centre is the UK’s first purpose-built weaning and home ventilation centre, allowing patients in the area to have specialist treatment much closer to home in a relaxing and purpose built environment. The site at East Surrey Hospital opened in 2014 and is managed by Guys’ and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

With extended visiting hours and homely environment, the centre improves outcomes in complex respiratory patients. In addition to providing specialist care, the centre is also a major training resource, and helps carers to learn how to look after people who continue to need to receive mechanical ventilation at home.

A large population (over 1,200) is supported in the use of non-invasive ventilation at home and an increasing number of tracheostomy ventilated patients.

The centre also provides inpatient care for those failing to wean from invasive ventilation following critical illness, and investigates chronic respiratory failure resulting from a variety of causes such as:

chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
neuromuscular disease (for example, Duchenne muscular dystrophy and motor neuron disease) chest wall disease (for example, scoliosis)
chronic respiratory failure related to obesity

We are unique in the UK as we provide a 24-hour medical, nursing and technical back up service for assisting patients who are experiencing difficulty with their ventilatory equipment, especially in the home environment.

The centre provides a comprehensive service for those suffering from the late consequences of poliomyelitis, including a post-polio rehabilitation service.

Welcome to Vivisol New

Vivisol have recently completed the acquisition of the Lane Fox Remeo Respiratory Centre, a 20-bed facility in Surrey that operates in partnership with Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.

The Lane Fox supports patients with complex respiratory needs as they move from intensive care into a specialist environment focussed on recovery and rehabilitation. Whilst at the Remeo centre patients are weaned from their ventilators and can then continue further treatment at home.

The Remeo itself is a wonderful standalone service which will operate completely independently from Vivisol UK.

However we look forward to establishing a mutually beneficial relationship and working closely with both Remeo and Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals in the future.

New Information Services New

Vivisols Information Services team have just completed the migration of Remeo users to a new infrastructure and support service. Users will now be supported by the Service Desk team based in Vivisols office in Crawley.

This website is just a place holder for our new Remeo website which is currently in development.

The new site will have more pages, contain much more information, better conform to accessibility standards and match the Remo brand and service.
